Community Services
At We Love Rainier WA, our commitment extends beyond hosting engaging events. We actively engage in community services that enrich the lives of our residents and support local schools. Our initiatives include 'Words for Thirds' and 'More Words', providing free dictionaries and thesauruses to third and fourth graders respectively. Additionally, our annual 'SMART Drive' in February ensures teachers have the necessary school supplies to enhance learning experiences. These efforts exemplify our dedication to fostering education, empowerment, and community well-being. Stay tuned for updates on upcoming services and how you can get involved!
How We Give Back To Our community
Words for Thirds
Words for Thirds is a program that provides brand-new dictionaries to third-grade students in Rainier, Washington, helping them become better writers, readers, and thinkers. Each dictionary is packed with more than just words and definitionsโit also includes valuable resources like the periodic table, the U.S. Constitution, and the longest word in the English language. Originally run by the Lions Club, the program was brought back to life by the We Love Rainier WA group to continue supporting local students in their educational journey.
SMART Drive
We Love Rainier WA launched the SMART Drive to support Rainier Elementary teachers with much-needed supplies, addressing shortages often covered out of pocket. Donation lists are on their Facebook page, with drop-offs at local businesses and City Hall. The organization is dedicated to strengthening the Rainier community through support and collaboration.
